From the outset, Westcliffe encourages families to be involved in the care of their loved one. It is often families who provide the greatest insight into our residents past lives/likes/dislikes and of course it is family who our residents want around them.
Our visiting policy is designed to encourage families to stay connected and feel like Westcliffe is an extension of home, so it is very straightforward; you are welcome at any time. To make things even easier we have face recognition technology on the front entrance, so once you are registered you don't have to knock/ring, you can come straight in.
The care provision will change over time, and we want families to be engaged at every stage. We encourage families to have regular reviews with the Westcliffe senior team and where appropriate our healthcare partners. Our personalised, digital care plans have the benefit of providing access to immediate, real-time information about each resident's daily care, health status and overall well-being and have a very useful calendar/appointment feature – so you will always be kept up to speed. We also invite families to 6-monthly face-to-face group meetings, simply to update everyone on things such as; new regulations, staff appointments, building developments and new initiatives - plus these give families the opportunity to meet each other over a drink and provide feedback.
