To express how good the care and friendliness is at Westcliffe in so few words is difficult. My mother has lived here for 5 years now and I have never had a reason to worry about her. The carers are amazing, they always appear to have time for everyone, whatever their specific needs. It is very comforting to know that a number of the carers have been at Westcliffe for many years and the continuity for the residents to see the same faces on a regular basis is very important. The menus are very good; the food fresh and appetising. Families and friends are always made welcome and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Westcliffe.

By being the longest serving resident I am in a good position to say you would have to go a long way to get anywhere as nice and pleasant as Westcliffe Care Home. The care and attention I have received over my 15 years here has been second to none and I can fully recommend it if you are thinking about placing someone here. Margaret Hardy - Resident
Westcliffe Care Home is a truly caring place, looking after residents as individuals. The nasal appraisal tells all; no unpleasant odours. This is a home in all senses of the word.

Westcliffe Care Home is a very friendly place; my mother has been a resident since March 2011. It was a decision we had to make together, when she could no longer look after herself following a stroke. Trudie settled in well due to the caring attention received. The accommodation is exceptionally clean and the food is excellent. Of course it is not and cannot be like her own home but from the care homes we visited we found this to be the environment that most suited Trudie and importantly us.

Reaching the decision that an elderly relative requires residential accommodation is a difficult process for any family and is where we found ourselves four years ago. The Westcliffe came very highly recommended to us with its smaller, family ambiance and the transition from home was eased by the comfort of the cosy rooms, the intimate dining area, the pleasant views from the conservatory and the beautiful gardens, offering an outdoor environment in good weather. The caring, friendly staff have an excellent relationship with each resident, aware of individual needs, and build up a good rapport with families and regular visitors. Recently the home has seen many improvements to interior decor and pleasing touches to the garden making it far more conducive for residents to enjoy the sunshine, along with a variety of organised activities to stimulate those who wish to join in. Although the majority of elderly relatives are initially going to find this new way of life different and sometimes difficult we found that the intimacy of the home has been ideal for Mum and she feels part of the ‘Westcliffe family’ where she is being cared for, has met friends and has the comfort of her own room with her own personal effects around her. As a family we are very grateful for the continued personal, individual concern shown towards our Mum which has made the whole process so much easier for us all.

During my time at Westcliffe Care Home I saw it go from strength to strength. My first impressions were good and after meeting with the owners/directors, Simon and Fiona Hodgkinson I could immediately tell how passionate they were about the success of the home. Whether it was the quality of the care given to residents, the team spirit within the staff, the decor in and around the home, the hygiene standards or the overall atmosphere of Westcliffe - all were given great attention. As an employee I found great relations with other staff members and all were willing to work togther to ensure the best results for the residents and the home. We worked hard to deliver the standards expected and the morale was always there. I saw many positive changes throughout my time working here - the kitchen being managed coherently and boasting a 5 star hygiene rating. The interior of the building was also transformed. To summarise, both Fiona and Simon have a passion for running Westcliffe and take great pride in making sure no stone is left unturned for the benefit of it. I have fond memories of working here and I left due to my full time work commitments but the experience will be invaluable to me. I wish Westcliffe the very best for the future - Martin Pikett (Weekend Cook - May 2012 - June 2013)
